Memorial Camp Hinterbrühl

From 4 August 1943 to almost the end of World War, there was a satellite camp of Mauthausen concentration camp in Hinterbrühl, were inmates had to work in tunnels on aircraft.

When the camp stopped, 1800 inmates were send on a death march from 200 kilometers to Mauthausen. Only few survived. Before the start of the march, 51 women were killed in the camp with injections of fuel.

On the location of the former mass grave with the 51 victims, there is now a memorial.
