The cemetery was used by German troops from the autumn of 1914 to July 1917.
779 fallen soldiers are commemorated in individual graves; 41 could not be identified. 261 of them belonged to a single Bavarian Infantry Regiment.
After the war, the French administration added burials from 10 surrounding municipalities. They were discovered during clearing and construction work.
The eight graves of those who belonged to the Jewish religion were covered with a stele.
