Belgian War Grave Surister
There is one Belgian war grave in the cemetery of Surister. It is that of:
DERECOGNE René, age 30, born in Jalhay, soldier with the 1st Regiment Cyclistes Frontières at Verviers, killed in action at Philippeville on May 13, 1940.
He was reburied in Surister in July 1940.
He is remembred on the warmemorial al Jalhay.
