Belgian War Graves Noville

The Noville cemetery contains several war graves of soldiers and civilians.

Jean Herman (born 1911) was a soldier in the 5th Ardennes Hunters Regiment, 2nd Battalion, 6th Company. He was killed in Deinze on May 25, 1940, when an attempt was made to establish a defensive line in the breach already made by the Germans at Meigem.

Arthur Wuidart (born 1912) was a soldier in the 5th Ardennes Hunters Regiment, 2nd Battalion, 4th Company. He was one of the victims of the "Rhenus," an inland vessel carrying Belgian prisoners of war, which sank in the Hollandsch Diep near Willemstad on May 30, 1940.

Marcel Berte (born 1913) was a soldier in the 25th Line Regiment, who fell on the Field of Honor in Bavikhove on May 24, 1940.

There are also civilian graves containing war victims.
A number were executed during the Von Rundstedt Offensive on December 21, 1944. Others were victims of the Bande massacre on December 24, 1944, when the Germans executed 34 men in retaliation for the death of three German soldiers.
Finally, there are also civilian victims of the bombings of January 15, 1945.
