Commonwealth War Graves Protestant Cemetery Castricum

Early in the war, Commonwealth forces suffered some losses in the battle for the Netherlands. The return of the Allies to the Netherlands from September 1944 led to many more casualties. Losses were also incurred in the intervening years because aircraft flying over the Netherlands were shot down or crashed. Everywhere in the Netherlands Commonwealth victims are now lying in cemeteries and cemeteries. Castricum Protestant Churchyard contains 34 Commonwealth War Graves, half of which are unidentified. There are also one Dutch and one Polish war grave.
