This American M24 Light Battle Tank (Chaffee) was built between 1943 and 1960. It was a light tank that succeeded the older M2 and M5 Stuart. The tank was equipped with a 75mm cannon and light armor. Due to the light armor, the tank was light and maneuverable. It was not a suitable opponent for heavy German tanks and antitank guns. Usually, this type of tanks were used for reconnaissance. The tank was also used in other wars, such as the Korean War and the French wars in Indochina and Algeria.
