Memorial Deported Jews of Zeeland

A memorial plaque for the Jews from Zeeland who were deported on March 24, 1942 by the Nazi regime from this station and perished in German concentration camps during World War II.
The transport on that day during the war consisted of a number of Jewish residents of Middelburg and other Jewish citizens who lived scattered in the province of Zeeland. They would never see their town, village and county ever again. Of the former Jewish community of Zeeland, probably 120 were victims of the Holocaust.

from amongst his brethren
