Memorial Lammert Heringa

At the house Lammert Heringastrjitte 13 in Gorredijk is a plaque commemorating Lammert Heringa.
Lammert was in World War II active in the resistance before he was arrested. He was imprisoned in the juvenile detention center in Siegburg, where he get typhus and hunger edema, at end of 1944.
After the liberation, he was admitted to the hospital in Groningen and later in the sanatorium in Hoog-Laren, where he is died on 28 April 1946.
