During the opening of the cityhall by prince Claus on 24 September 1969, also this bronze monument, designed by N.V. Bosma & Florack, was revealed. Ever since it reminds the citizens to the 7 Doetinchemse soldiers who died in those days in May, 8 fellow citizens who died in concentrationcamps en 4 liberationfighters who were killed in their actions aginst the Germans.
