Memorial Wellington Z1321

This memorial (unveiled on 15 June 2012) is a reminder of the crash of Wellington Z1321 (No.142 Squadron, Royal Air Force). All six crew members were killed.

Flight Sergeant Andrew Lennox (23 years old)
Sergeant Eric Groves (22 years old)
Sergeant Alfred Jelly (29 years old)
Sergeant Ronald Barrie (21 years old)

Wellington Z1321 returned from Essen when it was shot down by a German anti aircraft gun during the night of 25 - 26 March 1942. Five of the crew are buried at the general cemetery (Westduin) in The Hague. Sergeant Eric Groves is mentioned on the Runnymede Memorial.
