Bénouville Castle

During the morning of June 6th, German snipers shot at British soldiers on the Bénouville Bridge. Parr, a British soldier, shot at Bénouville castle with a German gun near the Bridge. He was convinced that German snipers where in the castle. Years after the battle, Parr read an article about German crimes. He red that the Germans shot at the castle (during the war a maternity hospital) as reprisal. In fact, it was a British soldier who shot at the castle.

There are still bullet holes in the facade from the gun.
