Memorial Georges Piron de la Varenne Paris

This memorial has been erected in memory of Georges Piron de la Varenne, who was the commander of the Belgian troops during the First World War. In 1940, he joined the French resistance. On 9 October 1941 the Germans arrested him and on 15 October 1943, the Germans killed Georges Piron de la Varenne.

The memorial stands next to the memorial who commerates the Belgian soldiers who died during the First World War. In this memorial is the grave of an unknown Belgian soldier.
