Stumbling Stones Aachener Straße 28

Ernst Hirsch (born 1877, murdered in Chelmno in September 1942)
Selma Leyser (born 1883, murdered in Chelmno in May 1942)
Alfred Rosenzweig (born 1879, murdered in Riga)
Else Rosenzweig (faith unknown)
Hans Rosenzweig (born 1911, murdered in Riga)
Albert Schwarz (born 1889, murdered in Riga)
Erna Schwarz (born 1891, murdered in Riga)
Rosa Schwarz (born 1922, murdered in Riga)
Carola Strauss (born 1908, murdered in Auschwitz)
Netta Strauss (born 1878, murdered in Riga)
Walter Strauss (born 1918, murdered in Riga)
Ferdinand Suessmann (born 1889, murdered in Lodz on 2-8-1942)
Melanie Suessmann (born 1890, murdered in Lodz on 30-1-1943)

The small copper plaques, in the pavement in front of houses of which the (mostly Jewish) residents were murdered by the Nazis, mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death.

In many other cities, mainly in Germany but also in other European countries, the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques and their number is still counting. Almost all Stolpersteine are laid by the German artist himself, Gunter Demnig.
