Stumbling Stones Sülzwiesen-Privatweg 14

These memorial stones (so called Stolpersteine of stumbling blocks) commemorate:
Otto Jakob Rosenthal (born 1878, murdered in Treblinka in 1942)
Hans Rosenthal (born 1915, murdered in Treblinka in 1942)
Alfred Karl Rosenthal (born 1920, murdered in Treblinka in 1942)
Else Rosenthal (born 1922, murdered in Treblinka in 1942)
Irma Rosenthal (born 1924, murdered in Treblinka in 1942)
Gerhard Oskar Rosenthal (born 1926, murdered in Treblinka in 1942)
Gerda Rosenthal (born 1928, murdered in Treblinka in 1942)
Inge Rosenthal (born 1930, murdered in Treblinka in 1942)
Gittel Rosenthal (born 1940, murdered in Treblinka in 1942)
Anneliese Rosenthal (born 1919, murdered in Bernburg on 29-5-1942)

The small brass plaques, in the pavement in front of houses of which the (mostly Jewish) residents were persecuted or murdered by the Nazis, mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death.

In many other cities, mainly in Germany but also in other European countries, the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques and their number is still counting. Almost all Stolpersteine are laid by the German artist himself, Gunter Demnig.

For more information and pictures, please visit Stolpersteine Magdeburg (in German).
