Cemetery Wolski

This cemetery contains Polish war graves from the Second World War and there are also war veterans buried here.

A symbolic grave is in memory of the Polish Lieutenant Colonel Mieczysław Rutkowski who was the quartermaster of the 1st Polish Armoured Division. He participated in the fighting in Normandy in 1944, then taken seriously ill and
transported to the UK. He died on 15 December 1944, in the Broadgreen Emergency Hospital in Liverpool.

Mieczysław Rutkowski is buried on Allerton Cemetery in Liverpool.
