Fort Rapp

This German fort was built from 1872 to 1874 and served as POW-camp for Russian and Italian prisoners of war during the First World War. It was occupied by French troops in 1918.

In 1939, Fort Rapp became part of the Maginot Line as supply depot and from 1944 to 1945 the fort was occupied by soldiers of the FFI, 1st French Army and elements of the U.S. Army.
