French bunker Zuydcoote

This construction can be seen on aerials as far back is 1920. Although no aerials before 1920 are know for this location we can assume that this is a WW1 French construction. Inside the construction traces can be found which indicate that this bunker served for waterstorage at a certain point in time.

During World War 2 there was a lot of German activity in the area, although little is known about the re-use of the Ferme du Nord and thus this bunker, by the Germans. Shortly after the Germans took control of the region, they would use the Ferme du Nord to gather artillery left behind by the Allied forces during operation Dynamo.
