Maginot Line - Fort Galgenberg

The Maginot Line's Galgenberg fort was a part of the Secteur Fortifié de Thionville.

The garrison consisted of 430 soldiers and 15 officers from the 167th RIF. (Fortress Infantry Regiment). Its principal mission was to cover the valley of the Moselle.

Galgenberg was never subjected to a serious attack.

The fort today:
Galgenberg Fort is currently a museum. The duration of a guided tour is approximately 1.5 hour.
