Monument Plane Crash B17 G Fire Ball 2

The memorial in Noord-Sleen commemorates the crash of an allied plane.

On January 11, 1944, an allied aircraft over Noord-Sleen ran into problems. After all other crew members had jumped out of the plane, the pilot Th.E. White maneuver the plane so that it did not reach the village, but just north of it in the Sleenerzand forestry. The place is located behind the monument.
