A1 Hill (Eliane 2)

There were heavy fights for these French trenches on the top of A1 Hill (named Strongpoint Eliane 2 by the French) during the Battle of Dien Bien Phu (Điện Biên Phủ).

The crater was created when the Viet Minh dug a tunnel and detonated a mine under the French command bunker that was here on the top of A1 Hill (named Strongpoint Eliane 2 by the French), during the Battle of Dien Bien Phu (Điện Biên Phủ).
