During World War II was in Camp Amersfoort a belfry with this appeal clock.
The appellate clock was several times a day sound.
The prisoners were then stand still and quick commands and execute such an appeal could take hours.

The demolition of the camp remained it is retained in 1968 and now stands at the memorial site.
The clock is now twice a year sound, on 19 april, the day that the leadership of the camp was handed over to the Red Cross and on 4 may, the day of National commemoration.
