Castle "Cornet" (Stp. Hafenschloß)

Castle "Cornet" was an important strategic strongpoint during the German occupation of Guernsey island. It was modernised and held a small garrison untill 1945. Today it is possible to visit a number of German fortifications constructed on the castle. The 201 Squadron RAF museum is also worth to visit.

Visitors can also visit the a Russian gun which was captured by the British forces during the Crimean War (1853-1856) and presented as a trophy of the war.

The panoramic shot of Castle Cornet taken from the Clarence Battery shows the castle being overflown by a WW2 era PBY Catalina Flying boat.
