Memorial U.S.S. Northwestern

The ship U.S.S. Northwestern was sunk during the Japanese raid on Dutch Harbor (3-4 June 1942). The following text on the memorial can be read:

"The SS Northwestern. Launched in 1889 carried passengers & freight for the Alaska Steamship Company retired in 1937. Repaired in 1940, served as housing for Siems-Drake Construction October 1940 to June 3rd, 1942, when destroyed by Japanese bombing raid."
