6 | Gds Armd Div left BRUSSELS in the morning amidst the cheers and salutations of the happy people. The Div advanced to the line of the ALBERT CANAL, but all the brs had been blown. A br hd was est over the canal and while the div engineers were building a br the local population obtained all the barges they could lay their hands on and started to build a rival br. This day's adv was marked by a warmer welcome than ever with plentiful gifts of peaches, plums, tomatoes, beer and every conceivable tribute. Union Jacks were painted on the rds and flags fluttered from every building. |
