Biography

Anne-Marie Bernadet was 16 years old when Operation Frankton took place. She was the first of her family to make contact with the RM commando Jack MacKinnon. The marine was given shelter for one night. The next day he continued his way to Spain. MacKinnon would never reach his destination. He and his fellow marine Conway would be brutally murdered by the SD the following year.

Anne-Marie Bernadet is mentioned on the Frankton memorial in Alrewas as one of the French civilians who assisted the RM commandos during or immediately after Operation Frankton.
