Citation:
"From 1940 until the liberation, Commandant LUNGO was one of the principal organisers of resistance on the civil side in the Tarentaise district of Savoy. He also took an active part in the continuous sabotage activities of the region which oftern involved coups de main on German and Vichy stocks of explosives and which resulted in the paralysing of all the important factories in the neighbourhood of Aime. He was also of the greatest help to our inter-allied mission, with which he worked, in organising the protection and distribution of arms from a large dropping operation which armed a battalion in the region. He was appointed the military head of the guerilla companies in a dn about the town of Aime, and led them with great success in the liberation of the Tarentaise valley.
He sheltered and fed the members of an inter-allied mission on several occasions between January 1944 and the liberation.

It is recommended that, in recognition of his long, valuable and courageous service to the cause of Resistance, Commandant LUNGO be mande and Officer in the Order of the British Empire (Mil.)(Hon).
