Period:
Second World War (1939-1945)
Rank:
Capitaine (Captain)
Unit:
Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force
Citation:
"As chief Liaison Officer of the Services des Controles Techniques this officer has been of outstanding value in developing and maintaining the smoothest possible relations between the French organization and the Allied Censorship Group (FRANCE) representing G-2 (Censorship), Supreme Headquarters, AEF.
No task has been too onerous, no service required too menial, no difficulty too thorny for him to devote all his energies to ensure that a perfect understanding prevailed as between French and Anglo-American conceptions of how the requirements of the Supreme Commander should be translated into effective action.
By his perfect command of both languages, he has very largely contributed to the reconciliation of divergent points of view arising from the dissimilarity of back-ground between the Latin and Anglo Saxon nations, and his cheerful promptness in action has ensured that the whole liaison both at Headquarters level as well as in the provinces, has produced the results expected of it."
Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE)
