Biography

The dear departed was born in Füchtorf on 11 January 1914. After two years of service, he was called up again for military service on 1 September 1939. Having survived the battles on the Siegfried Line and the Western Campaign, he was deployed to fight against Russia in the summer of 1941. On 18 January 1942, he was fatally wounded by a grenade. He died believing in God and his Saviour, a faithful son of his Catholic Church. He gave his young, hopeful life back into the hands of his Creator in difficult times, at the age of 28. His dearest wish to see his loved ones back home was not fulfilled. His comrades laid him to rest in the village of Tolstikovo. May the ruler of all battles welcome him into his kingdom of heaven.
