Biography

Appointed to the royal court on May 1, 1905, as a footman, Stråhle was among the first staff serving Crown Prince Gustaf VI Adolf. Promoted to valet on July 1, 1932, he was responsible for the prince’s attire and decorations. He accompanied the crown prince on all domestic and international travels, including the Middle East tour (Sept 1934–Jan 1935) and the U.S. trip (June–Aug 1938), as well as private visits to Sofiero and elsewhere. He retired on July 1, 1952.
