Russian Cemetery of Honour Chişinău

This war cemetery is located next to the victory memorial of Chişinău. There are 300 Soviet soldiers buried in individual graves and an additional unknown number of soldiers buried in mass graves. A symbolic marmble grave stone at the central part of the cemetery contains the following words:

"Never forget the heroes!"

Next to the memorial is a memorial plaque with the following text:

"In these mass graves are buried the Soviet soldiers who fell for the liberation of Chişinău in August 1944."
