Memorial Defenders Fort de Flémalle

This memorial commemorates the Belgian soldiers who fell in the defence of the Fort de Flémalle during the First and the Second World War.

COMMINETTE DEL Maxime, age 19 !, from Flémalle-Grande, sentry in the Artillerie Fortifiée de Liège at Fort Flémalle, died of wounds on October 16, 1914 at the fort.

COENEN Octave, age 32, from Tilleur, sentry in the Regiment Fortifiée de Liège at Fort Flémalle, taken prisoner of war and killed at Wolfsberg (Austria) on December 18, 1944.

CAVADINO Jacques, age 20, from Liège, soldier, transported as prisoner of war to Germany and killed May 22, 1941 at Hemer (Germany).

MATERNE Alexandre, age 23, from Flémalle-Grande, sergeant in the Regiment Fortifiée de Liège of Fort Flémalle, killed as a prisoner of war at Dolgurokowo (Russia) January 10, 1941. December 1944.
