Dover Stilling – Gun Stillings near Doverodde, Denmark
• Part of the German Atlantic Wall defense line during World War II.
Historical Context
• During the German occupation of Denmark (1940–1945), the Nazis built several coastal batteries and bunkers to defend access to the Limfjord against a possible Allied landing.
• The Limfjord was strategically important because it bisects Jutland and provides access to the North Sea via Thyborøn.
Function of the Dover Stilling
• The Dover Stilling, along with other batteries along the Limfjord, was intended to prevent enemy ships from entering Denmark via this route.
