Cemetery Victims National Socialism Piaśnica

From September 1939 to April 1940, the forest of Piaśnica was scene of the mass execution of 12,000 Poles (incl. small children) by the German occupation force. From August 1944, the Germans began an cleaning operation to erase all evidence of the mass murder that took place here. Prisoners of the Stutthof concentration camp were forced with this task and were shot afterwards. Today, the Piaśnica forrest cemetery can be visited.
