Commonwealth War Graves Étretat

There are 546 Commonwealth war graves in the Étretat cemetery. 264 of these are located in the old section and 282 in the later extension. All of the graves date from the First World War, with the exception of four graves in the extension, which belong to those who died in the Second World War.

There are also 13 German war graves and one French war grave in this cemetery.

There was a British hospital in the immediate vicinity. After a few of the dead had been buried in the existing cemetery, two plots and a later extension were set aside for Commonwealth graves from February 1915 onwards, where the German dead were also buried.
