Thirteen was a Lucky Number for this Halifax!

The War Illustrated, Volume 7, No. 159, Page 107, July 23, 1943.

Photo: Thirteen was a Lucky Number for this Halifax! R.A.F. Coastal Command Halifax deals with a U-boat in the Bay of Biscay. Heading for the Atlantic when she was spotted, the enemy submarine was destroyed within three minutes. This was the 13th U-boat to be attacked in seven weeks by the Halifax's squadron. Depth charges are here shown straddling the enemy's deck, while one of the aircraft's wheels is seen at the top of the photograph. Mr Churchill announced on June 30, 1943 that more than 30 U-boats had been destroyed in the Atlantic during May. Photo, British Official: Crown Copyright.
