In May 1940 Jacob Machiel Kock was commander of Fort Boven-Lent, near Nijmegen. In his daughter's papers, found by granddaughter Anne Pek, a drawing from October 1945 of the fort's defenses was recently found, plus a series of drawings of gun emplacements.
