Darjah Yang Amat Gemilang Bintang Sarawak

The Darjah Yang Amat Gemilang Bintang Sarawak was established on June 26th, 1929 by the Rajah of Sarawak, Charles Vyner Brook.

It was established as the highest order of the kingdom of Sarawak until the state of Sarawak became a British colony in 1946. After that date no new appointments were made. Some appointments with later date bare the date of the permission by the recipients country to wear the decoration.

The decoration is often confused fot the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak (Most Exalted Order of the Star of Sarawak) which is of later date.
