On January 17th, 1841 the Großkreuz was devided into a Goldene Großkreuze (Großkreuz mit der goldenen Krone) und Großkreuze (Großkreuz mit der silbernen Krone). The Goldene Großkreuz received an Ordenskette on January 17th, 1863.
