The Draper Prize is granted every two years by the U.S. National Academy of Engineering in recognition of the promotion of engineering and public engineering education. It is one of three awards that make up the "Nobel Prizes of Engineering"; the other two are the Gordon and Russ Prizes from the Academy. The winner of each Draper Prize also gets $500,000. The prize is named after Prof. Charles Stark Draper, the "father of inertial navigation".
