4   Bde Comd and D.S. made a recce of the ground for T.E.W.T. “Open”.
7   Bde Signal Ex “Turncoat”. For this Ex the Bde was Commanded by Lieut-Col Sir Walter de S Barttelot Bt, Coldstream Guards. The Bde Comd directed the Ex.
10   Bde T.E.W.T. Ex “Open”. Brigadier Oliver attended from 51 (H) Div. Brigadier Hock commanding 152 Inf Bde.
Capt J. Mc I. Young proceeded on a Waterproofing Course for “B” Vehs at CRAVEN ARMS, Shropshire until 13 Jan 44.
13   Exercise for Bde HQ Tks, to practice Tp trg and passing of messages from the R.L. to the Comd Tk.
16   Bde Comd and BM left for Corps HQ, to attend O Gp for Exercise “Tally Ho”. they spent the night at Corps HQ.
17   8 Corps Exercise “Tally Ho” began. Bde HQ and Bn R.Ls and HQ of Services were involved. Bde conc in area STAPLETON HALL, 976394 by 1730 hrs
WELBECK 18   Exercise “Tally Ho” continues. Bde was put under Comd 15 (S) Div and moved to KNARESBOROUGH Golf Course during the day in preparation for an attack on RIPLEY.
19   Exercise “Tally Ho” continues. After Battle at RIPLEY, Bde was ordered to close and move back to Billets, this was completed by 1630 hrs.
21/22   Bde Comd and BM attended 3 Tk S.G. and 5 Cameron Exercise “Cairngorm”.
22/24   Bde HQ Staff directed period of intensified W/T activity.
28   Maj-Gen D.C. Bullen-Smits D.S.O., M.C. Comd, 51 H Div attended demn Tks and Inf co-operation by 3 Tk S.G. and 5/7 Gordons.
Bde Comd attended finals of Bde Boxing Competition held in mess-room4 Tk Gren Gds and afterwards presented medals to the winners and runners-up.
31   Capt J.V. Rob proceeded on Couse 4A Armour and Projectiles at School of Tk Technology, CHOBHAM.
