Biography

Harry was born on March 18 1914 in Chippawa, Ontario, the son of Harry Heximer and Marie Heximer nee Pliley of Chippawa. They were married on June 10 1912 in Chippawa. He was married on September 5 1939 in Chippawa with Mona Alexandria Heximer nee Lirez of Niagara Falls Ontario and they were divorced then in 1942. Mona remarried later as Mrs. Conny.
He was an apprentice mechanic and labourer and member of the Church of England. His sports were baseball, hockey and softball and his hobby was athletics.

He enlisted on October 18 1941 in Hamilton Ontario and he went on February 4 1942 thereafter overseas to the UK.

Harry was killed in action on Wednesday June 23 1943 age 29 due to a crash at the hamlet of Bronsbergen near the river IJssel near Zutphen before or after an attack on Mülheim in Germany. The other fallen RCAF crew members were F/O Norman D. Reid (AFC) age 28 in grave E-14-17, F/O Armand A. Pariseau age 31 in grave E-14-17, F/O Byron M. Gracie age 23 in grave E-13 and Sgt Norman F. Notley age 20 in grave E-14-17. The other fallen RAF Volunteer Reserve crew members were Sgt Durston Mann age 21 in grave E-14-17 and Sgt Peter B. Robinson age 21 in grave E-18.

He served with the 427 Sqdn Royal Canadian Air Force.
