Biography

Andrew was born on October 19 1920 in Belleville USA, the son of John and Apolonia Uditsky nee Slavinsky (both Polish and naturalized Americans) of East Orange USA. They were married on June 24 1906 in Newark USA. His brother was Frank Uditsky and his sisters were Alice Meehan, Pauline George and Mrs. Stella Moore nee Kroll. His brothers John (1928) and Danny Uditsky (1915) were already deceased.

He was an assembler of magnetic switches and member of the Roman Catholic Church. His sports were football, baseball, hiking and swimming.
He enlisted on September 29 1941 in Montreal and he went thereafter on August 18 1942 overseas to the UK.

Andrew was killed in action on Wednesday May 5 1943 age 22 due to a crash near the road from Boertange –Vlagtwedde before or after an attack on Dortmund in Germany. The other fallen RCAF crew members were F/Sgt George E. Armstrong age 19 in grave A-8-1, F/Sgt Ernest N. Moore age 28 in grave A-8-1 and F/Sgt John T. MacKsimchuk age 25 in grave A-8-1. The other fallen RAF Volunteer Reserve crew member was Sgt Thomas A.S. Buchanan age 24 in grave A-8-1.

He served with the 166 (R.A.F.) Sqdn Royal Canadian Air Force.
