Shot down over Belgium on 10 May 1940, captured and hospitalized in Maastricht. Flight via France and Spain to England. After his training as P/O, he enlisted on March 23, 1943 in the Belgian section of the 609th Typhoon Squadron. He is killed during a training flight on 23/3/1944. He is posthumously awarded 6.5 victories.
