Biography

Reginald was born on April 17 1921 in Port Coquitlam British Columbia, the son of Reginald George Allen and Alice Louisa Allen of Vancouver. They were married on February 12 1920 in Old Marston England.

His brother was Alick George Allen and his sister was Joan Mary Allen.

He was a student and member of the Untied Church of Canada.

He enlisted on August 31 1939 in Vancouver and he went on December 18 1942 thereafter overseas to the UK.

Reginald was killed in action on Friday March 23 1945 age 23 just a month before his 24th birthday due to a crash near the hamlet of Gammelke before or after an attack on the Twente Airfield. He was buried on March 26 1945 then in Weerselo.

The other fallen RCAF crew member was F/O William F. Kilpatrick age 23 in grave 17-F.

He and the other fallen RCAF crew member are mentioned in March 2020 at a memorial sign near the crash site on the occasion of 75 Freedom.

He served with the 406 Sqdn Royal Canadian Air Force.
