Railway Bridge at NIJMEGEN damaged beyone immediate repair durin the night by ? Germans coming downstream in a boat. Road bridge put out of action temporarily by bombing. Patients evacuated over river by ferry. Capt. J. Kraus reported for duty.

12 October 1944 WO 177/881 - 168 Field Ambulance
Information received that 8 Armd Bde had arranged and organised a Rest Camp at LOUVAIN, Abbe du Mont Cesar without previous consultation with S.M.O.. A demand was made for 1 Medical Officer, 1 Nursing Orderly and 1 Ambulance Car to be attached to this camp. No details or information of existing or required sanitary or other health arrangements supplied. Capt. Kraus detailed.
