Vehicle wading at ARBORFIELD (3 Officers. 60 O.Rs. 8 Vehicles). Capt. G.A. Pilkington posted to H.Q. R.A.S.C. 11 Armd. Div. as Adjutant. Grenade throwing training (3 ORs appeared before a Medical Board – downgraded and transferred to H.S.D.) Censorship of mail commenced. Lecture on censorship given to all ranks. Capt. M. Griffiths posted to Unit from 777 Corps Car Coy. R.A.S.C.

21 December 1944 WO 171/1251 - 4 Coldstream Guards
A harbour party under Maj. Pilkington left at 1030 hrs for WIJCHMAEL north of LOUVAIN. We had been told that we were to come under command of 51st Highland Div. in the dispositions made necessary by the strong German counter attack against the 1st U.S. Army front, which had broken through on a 25 mile front. It was not known to what extent this dangerous thrust had penetrated into Belgium. B Ech left HELMOND and arrived at BOCHOLT 1200 hrs .
