30 June 1944 WO 171/1658 - 612 Field Squadron
Lt. Casswell with 1 Tp. arrived in Sqn. harbour bringing remaining missing personnel from 2 Tp's destroyed half-track. Reports another 1 Tp half-track destroyed by enemy action – set on fire by enemy mortar fire which hit adjacent barn; also 1 O.R. of 1 Tp wounded & evacuated.

7 July 1944 WO 171/1658 - 612 Field Squadron
O.C., Lt. Mackay & Lt. Casswell with 5 OR's attended a demonstration of earth-road building organised by C.E. 30 Corps. 2 I.C. agains visited Adv. RA's. Sec. at Army H.Q. and 105 Corps Reinforcement Camp, but no rfts. are yet available for collection although the unit has received posting orders for 11.

Lts. Casswell & Kuipers set off with recce pty.

29 September 1944 WO 171/1658 - 612 Field Squadron
1 Tp. continued rd. maint. Lts. Casswell, Preedy & Wright made extensive rd. recce covering some 50 sq. miles.

7 October 1944 WO 171/1658 - 612 Field Squadron
- 2400 All Tps. again practised FBE at DONK, building 120' bridge in 3hrs. 50 mins - awkward banks. Meanwhile O.C. & Tp. Ldrs. with Lt. Casswell recced op. site over R. MAAS at CUYK 7249 and measured gap: 473 ft. at water level and 492' overall.
