"Adjudant Andre was parachuted into Hainaut, Belgium, on 29 May 1944, as sabotage instructor to the Secret Armies in the Province of LUXEMBOURG.

He was responsible for the training of sabotage teams, planning of attacks, and in many cases, personally led successful attacks on railway lines, rail signalling systems, railway workshops, turntables, water towers, pumping systems, power stations, etc.

On the approach of the American Forces on 1 September 1944 he took an active part and showed consicuous gallantry in attacks on enemy convoys, and placing and mining of road obstructions to delay the retreating enemy.

This warrant officer fulfilled a very successful mission and showed a high degree of courage, responsability and devotion to duty. It is recommended that he be awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal."
