Biography

In that morning of May 16th his battalion was attacked by dive-bombers, but with surprisingly little effect. In the afternoon, however, bombs narrowly missed A Company’s headquarters and a splinter from another bomb killed H.Q. Company driver Private Hammond, who was the Battalion’s first battle casualty.
