Jan Anthonie Snijders was born on December 1st, 1869 in Delft as the son to Jan Anthonij Snijders (1844 - 1922) amd Gijsberta Cornelia Alida Snijders-van der Sar (1846-1917). He married on July 20th, 1897 in Leiden with Marie Japikse (1867-1928) and on August 14th, 1928 in Amsterdam with Johanna Maria Frederika Hisschemöller (1873 - 1961).
